Delta – 9

Hello and welcome to the HUMIGEN web page inviting you to find out more about our work with “Delta-9″, the IL-23 receptor variant that inhibits the development and maturation of human Th17 cells.

Delta-9 is a newly-discovered variant of the human IL-23 receptor that blocks IL-23 signalling and inhibits the development and function of Th17 cells – the cells that are pathogenic in IBD. We want to understand whether circulating levels of Delta-9 can be used to monitor inflammation and predict disease behavior such as flares and upcoming severe episodes. It may also be that overall severity indicators, such as the need for surgery, may be predictable using Delta-9 monitoring. We’d like you to help us find out.

If you are a physician, we’d like to invite you to join our clinical study to investigate the role and utility of Delta-9 as a tool for monitoring susceptibility and severity of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), and to determine its ability to predict disease progression.

If you are a scientist, we’d like to invite you to contact us with suggestions for collaborative studies.

If you are a patient, we’d like you to bring Delta-9 to the attention of your physician and ask him or her about whether you’d be suitable to take part in this study.

Clicking here will download an information sheet about Delta-9 and our independently-approved and externally-monitored clinical study.

Thank you for your interest in HUMIGEN and Delta-9. We look forward to hearing from you; you may contact us via email: Delta9@Humigen.org or using the boxes below.
