Master of Science in Molecular Pathology and Immunology

HUMIGEN scientists are pleased to have been involved in the creation of the exciting UMDNJ M.S. program in Molecular Pathology and Immunology, and we enthusiastically participate in it.

This degree is offered by the UMDNJ Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. It is a multidisciplinary program strongly focused on laboratory work and thesis research. Scientists at HUMIGEN hold adjunct faculty positions in the UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Molecular Biology and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and participate actively in the teaching of the courses that form the degree.

The degree comprises core courses and degree-specific courses and runs for 17 months. Core courses in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and ethics, which are taught at the UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine campus in Stratford, NJ. Specialized courses in molecular pathology, medical microbiology, cancer biology, cell-signaling, drug-discovery, immunology, seminars, journal clubs, laboratory rotations and Thesis Research take place on the Genesis Biotechnology Group campus in Hamilton, NJ. This M.S. degree is unusual in that it places a real emphasis on thesis research and practical laboratory work over lecture or seminar-based teaching; laboratory research comprises over half the degree.

HUMIGEN Research Associates can be considered for entry into this program on a competitive basis after completing one year of employment with us. Additionally, non-employee candidates may enter the program through the usual route for M.S. programs at UMDNJ.

Full details of the program, including entry requirements, application procedures and deadlines, can be found here.
